IKOYI, Lagos, Nigeria – The 13-year-old N7.65 billion fraud trial of a former governor of Abia State and senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu, will resume on Monday 22nd of July 2019 at the Federal High Court, Lagos.

He will be standing before justice Mohammed Idriss on a fresh fiat issued by the president of appeal court, justice Bukachua.

A copy of the fiat sighted by our correspondent showed that the trial of the embattled senator will run day to day from July 22 in Federal high court Lagos. 

Kalu is standing trial alongside his former Commissioner for Finance, Ude Udeogo, and a company, Slok Nigeria Limited, on an amended 39-count charge of money laundering to the tune of N7.6bn.
