LONDON, United Kingdom – Extraordinary broadcaster with British Broadcasting Corporation(BBC), Danny Baker has been sacked by his employer. He was sacked for mocking the royal baby, Achie, through his playful tweet.
The 61 year old radio broacaster, who anchors BBC 5 Live aired every Saturday from 9am to 11 am had tweeted photograph of a well dressed white couple, holding the hands of a well suited chimpazee, holding a walking stick, walking out of a building with the following caption, “Royal baby leaves hospital”.
What followed was public outrage in the media forcing the BBC to show him the way out. He however deleted the tweet but the photographs is still on his social media page on Instagram.
He has also apologised for the negative attention his tweet has gained. He wrote, “Sorry my gag pic of the little fella in the posh outfit has whipped some up. Never occurred to me because, well, mind not diseased.
“Soon as those good enough to point out it’s possible connotations got in touch, down it came. And that’s it”, he said, adding that he only intended to make a joke of the Royal baby.
“Once again. Sincere apologies for the stupid unthinking gag pic earlier. Was supposed to be joke about royals vs circus animals in posh clothes but interpreted as about monkeys & race, so rightly deleted. Royal watching not my forte. Also, guessing it was my turn in the barrel”, he said.
He also took a swipe on is employer, the BBC for sacking him for a mere joke, describing the development as “a masterclass of pompous faux-gravity”.
“They took a tone that said I actually meant that ridiculous tweet and the BBC must uphold blah blah blah. Literally threw me under the bus. Could hear the suits knees knocking”, he said.
