ZAMFARA, Nigeria – Not less than 30 people have been killed in Zamfara State in the last one week while about 100 were abducted by armed bandits who have been terrorising the area.

According to Journalist Ahmad Salkhida, with reports from Yusuf Anka, Lawali Abdullahi and Ubaidulla Kaura, heavy military deployment has also made the bandits uncomfortable in their hideouts and that the military has recorded success in its operations in the area

“Zamfara in the last 7 days, like the week before it, reveals how the Military and the armed groups are engaged in a cat and mouse game. Human life remains short and brutish, as about 100 people were abducted and over 30 killed in the past week alone.

“However, Vigilante sources insist that recent heavy military deployments in the state have made the armed groups uncomfortable in the forests and they no longer have the capacity to hold large number of captives for ransom. This is some progress to the ongoing military operatns.

“The military on its own part must not only focus on silencing public outrage, they should as well work towards developing a sustainable plan that embraces everyone in the region to address this crisis. Additional reporting by Yusuf Anka, Lawali Abdullahi, Ubaidullah Kaura”, he said on tweeter.
