VICTORIA ISLAND, Lagos, Nigeria – The much talked about Gtbank Food and Drink Festival takes off Sunday, April 28, 2019 at  Plot 1 Water Corporation Drive, Oniru, Victoria Island, Lagos. The four day event will commence 10 am daily from Sunday to Wednesday,  May 1, 2019.


Speaking at a press conference to flag off the event in Lagos, Head, Communications and External Affairs, Oyinade Adegite  described the GTBank Food & Drink festival as an annual food exhibition and sales event that aims to project the diverse angles of the food industry by connecting various businesses involved in the production and sale of food-related items to a cosmopolitan audience of food enthusiasts.

She said there will be 15 masterclasses, food and pastries, photography and mixology.   Adegite said the Gtbank Food & Drink festival is a free business platform that allows small businesses to showcase their wares and get the needed exposure.

She said this year event will be bigger, bringing together about 300 businesses  unlike in the past when about 140 to 150 businesses had the privilege to showcase their products.

She said the Gtbank Food and Drink festival, tagged promoting enterprises is more about transforming lives, adding that in terms of cost,  it was done in line with budgeting guidelines set out by shareholders.

She said that Gtbank chose clothing and food since both are critical to human beings. Besides, she said that the Gtbank Food and Drink festival will remain in Lagos for now since it is about delivering than just satisfying everybody.

We have different CSR which we do across Nigeria and that it is difficult to replicate and maintain same standard. On the presence of more foreign chefs in the lineup for the masterclasses, she said it is about diversity instead of nationality.

The chefs on parade include Matse Uwatse, Raphael Duntoye, Jeff Mauro, Duff Goldman, Luke Whearty, Cristian Duhalde, Phil Howard, Paul Wayne Gregory, Shota Nakajima and Melina Hammer. Others are Chris Fynes and Tom Reaney, Kinorah Awini, Tregaye Fraser and Ton Tasanakajohn. Click here to register for the free masterclass.

The fair  will feature wide variety of food exhibitors showcasing and selling food products ranging from fresh organic groceries to dry foods, confectionery and pastries, ready to eat consumables, top quality crockery and wine & champagnes.
