IKEJA, Lagos, Nigeria – Officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) have surrounded the premises of the Lagos High Court, Ikeja waiting to apprehend a former Federal High Court judge, Justice Rita Ofili Ajumogobia, whose case has been struck out by the court.
As soon as Justice Hakeem Oshodi ruled on the matter filed by the EFCC, striking out the suit, the defendants, Rita Ofili Ajumogobia and co-defendant , Godwin Obla, SAN left the court. But on getting out, Rita Ofili Ajumogobia in company of her husband got a wind of information that officials of the agency have surrounded the court waiting to arrest and move her to Abuja.
She thereafter returned to the court after descending the staircase. Her husband later joined her inside the court. Godwin Obla was however allowed to exit the court premises by officials of the EFCC. Station at the court premises for the operation is a white truck with registration number Abuja, BWR 63780.
As at the time of filing this report, officials of the EFCC were still around waiting for the embattled judge.
