ADAMAWA, Nigeria – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced a new date for supplementary governorship election for Adamawa State.
In a statement, INEC said it decided to announce the new date following the discharge of the injunction that suspended the supplementary election in Adamawa State.
The MRDD had filed a suit following the failure of INEC to includes its name in the just concluded governorship and state house of assembly election. In a statement, INEC said the election will now hold on Thursday, March 28, 2019.
According to INEC, the election will take place from 8 Am to 2 Pm in 29 registration areas and 44 polling units across 14 local governments. There are 40, 988 registered voters in the 14 local governments. However, INEC is yet to release the number of voters with Permanent Voters Cards(PVCs).
Already PDP in is leading by 4, 059 votes. The APC scored a total of 465,453 votes against the PDP’s 469,512 votes.
