Defence to file No Case Submission

IKEJA, Lagos, Nigeria – Deputy Supretendent of Police at Area F, DSP Ayanleye Adenike today told the court how the two year old pupil identified, the Supervisor at Chrisland School, Lekki, Adegboyega Adenekan, who allegedly defiled her by putting his “wiwi into her wiwi” in his office toilet.
DSP Yanleye Adenike who is under cross-examination by counsel to the defendant, Olatunde Adejuyigbe said that the two year old pupil of Chrisland School took her and his team to Adegboyega’s office and identified his seat from the three seats before leading the police team to the toilet where the assailant defiled her.
She spoke in defence when the defence lawyer made a categorical statement after playing the interview video that there was no place in the video where the victim expressly narrated how the incident took place but that what happened was that both the police, the OPD lawyer and mother of the victims asked leading questions so as to elicit desired response.
Besides, the defence counsel also told the court that there was no place in the video where the victim said Adegboyega Adenikan took him to his office, neither did she disclose the particular position that the alleged violation took place.
He told the court in his questions that there was no place in the video where the victim said that Adegboyiga Adenikan pulled down his trousers to pepetrate the act.
It was in reaction to issues raised by the defence counsel that DSP Ayanleye Adenike decided to open up on her findings besides what transpired in the the video.
In concluding his cross-examination, Olatunde Adejuyigbe said he will be filling a no-case submission and sought permission of the court for 14 days but later agreed for 7 days when Justice Cybil Nwaka insisted. The matter has been adjourned till April 15, 2019.
