One-off Nigerian musician, Edward Inyang, better known as Blackky is a very sad man. He is sad after having close confrontation with poverty in the land and how Nigerians are struggling to make a living. He is not sad about the struggle, but the fact that the struggle often times yields no fruit.
He relates his encounter on the streets of Lagos.
“Walking through the streets of Lagos…I could feel the energy from the streets…Looking into the red eyes of most of my brothers and sisters on the streets….some hawking…some trading by the roadside….some just outright hustling….with little or nothing to show for it…some just sitting on a bench and staring into space..wondering what they have done to deserve such a hard life!”, he said.
Besides, he is wondering where Nigeria got it wrong to deserve leaders who don’t care about the feelings of ordinary Nigerians, calling them Babylonian leaders.
“I could feel all of their pain…their hardship so unbearable….Oh Jah….see your people through and deliver us from all these babylonian leaders who have put out the light in our bright future…. And so I returned to my yard with a deep pain in my heart…and a firm prayer inna mi heart….”, Blackky lamented.
