LAGOS, Nigeria – The Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) of witholding sensitive materials, including collation form EC8D and result sheet, form EC8E in states considered to be stronghold of the PDP.

In a statement, Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan said information at its dispossal suggests that certain compromised INEC officials are working with agents of the All Progressive Congress(APC) to hold back the materials to pave way for allocation of results to President Muhammadu Buhari and National Assembly candidates of the APC.

He noted that in Abia state forinstance, no collation and result sheets have been received for the senatorial election, while no result sheets have been received in Delta State and others.

He also reported about the situation in Kano State, where he said only 105 Senate result sheets have been received in Garko Local Government instead of 144 result sheets. “Rongo LGA has received 106 senate result sheets instead of 141. Danbatta has received 28 cartons of House of Representatives ballot papers instead of 29, while Tofa LGA has received 18 cartons instead of 19, adding that this scenerio is playing out in many other states”, he said.

The PDP called on INEC chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu to immediately release the material, noting that the PDP will not allow anybody to use the materials to rig the election.
