Buhari defeats Atiku in Jigawa by 394, 319 votes

JIGAWA, Nigeria – President Muhammadu Buhari has continued to widen his margin of defeat over the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

In the latest result released by the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC), Buhari polled 612, 371 votes to defeat Atiku who polled 218,052 votes with a margin of 394, 319 votes.

Returning officer for the Jigawa election, Professor A. Freeman said total number of registered voters was 2,375,568, total number of accredited voters were 911,964, while total votes cast was 896,976. Total valid votes was 851,937, while 45,039 votes were rejected.
