LONDON, U.K – Members of parliament in the House of Commons today rejected the Brexit deal through a vote of 432 (NO) to 202(Yes), with the No having the majority.

The house however put down a No Confidence vote and slated it for debate on Wednesday, January 16, 2019.

Speaking after the vote, British Prime Minister, Theresa May said she will make out time to debate the No confidence vote, adding that she became PM two years after Brexit, and that though she respects the will of the house, it remains her duty to deliver on the mandate of the British people.

She urged the MPs to listen to the voice of the British people and work with government to do just that.

” I became PM 2 years after that referendum and I believe it is my duty to deliver on that instruction and I intend to do so. I respect the will of the house but I want this house to listen to the voice of the British people and work with government to do just that”, she said.
