Sacked workers slam N1.3 bn suit on Bristow Helicopters

IKEJA, Lagos, Nigeria – Former workers of Bristow Helicopters Limited have slamed a N1,359, 26, 377.80 kobo before the National Industrial Court of Nigeria(NICN) being difference between the 2008 and the 2015 severance package agreement which is due and remained unpaid by Bristow Helicopter Nigeria Limited.

When the matter came up, counsel to Bristow Helicopters, Mrs Titilayo Giwa informed the court that in the course of review of the case file in preparation for trial, it came to the attention of her client that there were certain vital facts that were inadvertently omitted from the statement of defence filed on the fourth of August last year.

Mrs Giwa prayed to court to admit same as is neccessary to plead those facts for the determination of their rights in respect of the suit.

The counsel to claimants, Mr. Ojay Akinwale who did not opposed admissibility of the motion asked for cost of N100,000 for the inconvenience and expeditious hearing.

After entertaining submissions from counsels, the presiding judge, Justice P.A. Bassi adjourned till 13th of January for continuation of trial and commencement of trial.
