Former Chief of Defence Staff, Alex Badeh assassinated in Abuja

ABUJA, Nigeria – Family and associates of former Chief of Defence Staff, Air Marshal Alex Badeh are currently mourning, following the sudden death of the former military chief. Alex Badeh was assassinated on Tuesday evening by unknown gunmen along the Abuja-Keffi Road.
He was returning from farm when he met his untimely death. Director of Public Relations and Information, Nigerian Airforce, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola announced the development on Tweeter when he wrote.
“It is with a heavy heart that I regretfully announce the unfortunate demise of former Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, who died today, 18 Dec 18, from gunshot wounds sustained when his vehicle was attacked while returning from his farm along Abuja-Keffi Road.
On behalf officers, airmen and airwomen of the Nigerian Air Force, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Abubakar, commiserates with the family of the late former Chief of Defence Staff over this irreparable loss. We pray that the Almighty God grants his soul eternal rest.”
So far, his death has been greated with mixed reactions. While some have condemned the incident, describing it as a sad reminder about the level of insecurity in the land, others have said the development only suggest the ephemeral nature of material wealth.
