IKEJA, Lagos, Nigeria – Striking unions in the aviation sector have agreed to suspend the two day strike it embarked upon to press home their demand for reinstatement of sacked workers.
The workers suspended the strike as airlines continued to record losses, with many threatening to downsize workforce to meet up with present reality.
The unions announced the decision to suspend the strike in an unsigned message it sent to members.
“Dear All, please be informed that BASL and the Aviation Unions have agreed to suspend the 2-day old industrial action. In view of this, normal operations resume immediately tomorrow being 12th day of October, 2018. Thank you for support and understanding”, the union said.
