LOGAR, Afghanistan – At least five people have been killed in the Eastern Logar Province, Afghanistan when terrorists detonated an improvised explosive device during a wedding ceremony in the area. Seven others were also injured. The groom and the bride were not affected in the attack.
But a spokesman of the police chief in the area, Shah Poor Ahmadzai confirmed that seven others were wounded in the attack which took place in Mohammad Agha district late Friday. He said initial report show both the groom and bride were not hurt but that the death toll could rise.
Council member in Logar, Mohammad Naser Ghairat said the bomb was planted near the house where the wedding was taking place and targeted the participants of the wedding and 7 people at the weeding were also wounded.
