LAGOS, Nigeria – French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister, Theresa May have all called for adoption of measures that would reach results, showing all the facts transparently and clearly in the investigation of the gruesome murder of Saudi journalist, Jamal Khashoggi in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Turkey.




They both made the call in telephone conversation with Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud following the the death of the journalist in questionable circumstances in Turkey.

Jamal Khashoggi who had visited to perfect marriage documents with his fiancee was killed in the Saudi consulate in Turkey but his body was dismembered. Till date his body is yet to be found. Although, Saudi authority have owned up, but they said he died in a fight, an explanation most nation found difficult to stomach, as all fingers point to Prince Mohammed as culprit.

“The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques briefed the British Prime Minister on the measures taken by the Kingdom and the investigations carried out by the joint Saudi-Turkish investigation team to uncover the facts about the Saudi citizen Jamal Khashoggi, stressing the determination of the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to give those found guilty deterrent punishment.

“For her part, the British Prime Minister expressed hope that the Saudi-Turkish cooperation in the investigations would reveal the facts clearly and transparently and that the judiciary takes its course to punish those who are proved to be involved”, the Saudi authority said in a statement.

The Custodian of the two Holy Mosques also briefed the French President on measures taken by the Kingdom to clarify the full truth in the circumstances of the death of Jamal Khashoggi, and the determination of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Government to give deterrent punishment to those found guilty.

“For his part, the French President expressed hope that measures taken in this case would reach results that show all the facts transparently and clearly”.
