LAGOS, Nigeria – Former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has challenged former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to travel to the United States of America and return safely to Nigeria to prove to him that he is actually not corrupt.
The former president reacted even as the former VP intensified his campaign claiming he is not corrupt. Atiku has neither been charged before any court of law nor convicted in Nigeria. But he and Obasanjo once embarked on shouting bout while both were in office, during which they accused each other of one deed or the other.
But the former President said in the social media that he is not saying that the former VP, Atiku Abubakar is corrupt but that he needs to travel to America and not Dubai to prove his innocence and that he can never entrust him with his wallet let alone the finances of the country.
“It’s very ridiculous to hear that Atiku said he’s not corrupt. Well, I am not categorically saying Atiku is corrupt, but until he can travel to America – not Dubai, and return to Nigeria, I can never entrust him with my wallet let alone of the finances of the country”, he said on Tweeter.
