LAGOS, Nigeria – Former Presidential Spokesman, Dr. Doyin Okupe has said that the despiration to impeach President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki is nothing but a dream that will never materialise.




“It will only remain a dream that will not materialise”, he said.

Chairman of the All Progressive Congress(APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has been the arrowhead of the Saraki must be impeached campaign following his defection to the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).

But Dr. Doyin Okupe who was speaking on Arise Television said that it will be difficult for the APC to get two-third majority required for him to be impeached stressing that despite the talks, Saraki seems to be waxing stronger. He described what is going on well for Saraki as his political trajectory.

According to him, Saraki is intelligent, well educated that has served as Managing Director of Societe General Bank which has now transformed into Heritage Bank, his two term governorship of Kwara State, during which he emerged as Chairman Governors Forum.

According to him, it was based on his trajectory that he emerged as Chairman Governors Forum, contested for Senate and was eventually elected President of the Senate from among his peers.

Speaking on recent mergers by political parties, he said that parties decided on the merger based on failure in performance by the current executive. He said his party, the Accord Party(AC) has also decided to join the CUUP for the purpose of removing President Muhammadu Buhari from office come 2019.

He tipped three candidate as likely to emerge as Presidential candidates from the CUUP. The candidates according to him include, Governor of Sokoto State and former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki and former Vice President Alhaji Abubakar Atiku.

He said that all the parties in the coalition have decided to work for the candidate that merges from the CUUP.
