OJO, Lagos, Nigeria – The Governing Council of the Lagos State University(LASU) has approved the promotion of 11 lecturers to the rank of professors. It also approved 38 others for promotion.
“Sequel to the recommendations of the Appointments and Promotions (Academic) Committee, the Governing Council of Lagos State University has approved the Promotions of Eleven (11) new Professors and Thirty-Eight (38) Teaching Staff of the Institution at its 118th Statutory meeting held on Thursday, 28th June, 2018 at the Senate Chamber, Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos” LASU said in a statement by Ademola Adekoya, Coordinator, Centre for Information Press and Public Relations.
The break down of the new status is as follows: Eleven (11) Associate Professors were duly promoted to the position of full fledged Professors. Fourteen (14) Senior Lecturers were elevated to Associate Professors. Eighteen (18) Lecturer 1 moved from that position to Senior Lecturers.Two (2) Lecturers previously on the position of Lecturer II are now on Lecturer I while One (1) Assistant Lecturer moved up to Lecturer II . Similarly, three (3) Assistant Lecturers were upgraded to the positions of Lecturer II.
