ST PETERSBURG, Moscow, Russia – Classic play by Belgium at the ongoing FIFA 2018 World Cup in Russia has earned the team a bronze medal in the tournament. Belgium defeated England 2-0, making England to bid goodbye to the tournament without any medal.
It could have been worse but for the brilliant effort by English goal keeper that stopped so many goal bound shots from the hungry lads from Belgium. Belgium took the lead in the 4th minutes when Thomas Meunier found back of the net after connecting a pass from Nacer Chadli.
Belgium held on to the lone goal lead until the first 45 minutes. England resumed the second half with hope of equalising. The team pressed hard and even took possession 58 percent against 42 by Belgium but it earned the English team nothing. It was Belgium that got lucky in the 82nd minutes when Eden Hazard made it 2-0 to seal it up for his team.
Belgium had 4 shots on target while England had 6 shots. Belgium made 8 counter attacks while England had none. The last match in the FIFA 2018 World Cup in Russia comes up tomorrow between France and Croatia.
