Nabs Kwara Governor’s Chief of Staff, PA

ABUJA, Nigeria – The Nigeria Police Force, NPF has invited President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki to report himself to the Force Intelligent Response Team Office at Guzape, Abuja to anwer to allegations raised by five leaders of armed robbery gang arrested in connection with the armed robbery at Offa, Kwara State.
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja, Force PRO, Mr. Jimoh Moshood said the five gang leaders made confessions linking President of the Senate with the Offa Robbery, which he said led to the death of about 33 persons, including pregant women and nine policemen.
He gave the names of the robbers as Ayodele Akinnibosun, Ibunkunle Ogunleye, Adeola Abraham, Salawudeen Azeez and Niran Ogundiran. According to him, they were among the 17 suspects arrested in connection with the Offa Robbery. He said a Lexus jeep, GX-300 ash colour with sticker plate number with inscription, SARAKI, Kwara State of Harmony, used by the gang leader, Ayoade Akinnibosun during the robbery was taken to Government House, Kwara State on the 16th of May, 2018 where the sticker plate number with inscription, SARAKI, Kwara State of Harmony was removed before another plate number with registration number, Kwara KMA 143 RM registered in the name of Ayoade Akinnibosun, the overall commander of the Offa Bank Robbery was then attached to the vehicle to cover the identity of the vehicle.
He said the exhibit was subsequently recovered from the premises of Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Ilorin, Kwara State and that the sticker was recovered from one Adeola Omiyale who drove the vehicle to Government House, Ilorin immediately after the robbery.
He added that Personal Asssistant(Political ) to the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mr. Alabi Olalekan who is privy to information that the police is looking for the jeep directed Adeola Omiyale to relocate the jeep to Government House.
He told journalists that Alabi Olalekan is currently in police custody and that he has made useful statements to the police and that a Revolver Pistol and Pump Action Gun were recovered by the police from the farmhouse where the PA to the governor, Olalekan directed is brother to hide the guns after his arrest.
He explained that to further conceal the identity of the vehicle, Chief of Staff to the Governor of Kwara State, Mr. Yusuf Abdulwahab who has been arrested arranged removal of the sticker.
Meanwhile Bukola Saraki has replied the police denying involvement in the Offa Robbery.
