WINDSOR, England, United Kingdom – Prince Harry today got married to Meghan Markle at a flamboyant ceremony at Windsor Castle, England and will henceforth be known as Duke and Duches of Sussex. Dressed in a white flowing gown, Meghan Markle, an African American was walked down the aisel by Prince Charles. It was an elaborate ceremony witnessed by the high and mighty. On roll call were Oprah Winfrey, George and Amal Clooney, David and Victoria Beckham and Sir Elton John.
Dressed in Queen Elizabeth’s diamond Bandeau tiaria, Markle was dressed in an overflowing white dress designed by Ms Waight Keller for French fashion house Givenchy.
In her compnay are 10 bridesmaids and pageboys – including Prince George and Princess Charlotte, to go with a five-metre veil embroidered with the flowers of each country in the Commonwealth. Mr Markle, (73), the brides’ father was absent and reportedly watched the ceremony from California.
The Ring
Prince Harry’s gold ring was reportedly made with platinum band to go with a textured finish, while that of Markle was a fine piece of Welsh gold.
They took the usual wedding vows, “for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, ’till death us do part.”
President of the US Episcopal Church, Most Rev Bishop Michael Curry gave an address, the Rt Rev David Conner, Dean of Windsor, conducted the service and the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Rev Justin Welby, officiated.
According to the Bishop, “there’s power, power in love.”If you don’t believe me think about a time when you first fell in love. The whole world seemed to centre around you and your beloved. Well… there’s power, power in love.”
