NEW YORK, United States – The TakeitBack Nigeria Movement, led by the Publisher of Sahara Reporters and Nigerian Presidential Aspirant (Omoyele Sowore) is holding its first TownHall in New York this Saturday, May 5th, 2018. Hundreds of Nigerians from the New York / New Jersey area are expected to troop in to join their counterparts from Boston, Washington, DC all the way to as far as Delaware, Maryland and Virginia states to showcase the official launch of the Movement in the State of New York.
Since starting his Campaign for the Presidency of Nigeria two months, Omoyele Sowore has made TownHall meetings with Nigerians (at home and in the diaspora) a main-stay of his Campaign. Sowore, well-known as one of the most vocal and unrelenting anti-corruption activist and a thorn in the flesh of all Nigerian administration over the past 20 years, is mobilizing Nigerians against the current administration of Muhammadu Buhari.
General Buhari is widely viewed by Nigeria as an inept administrator who’s failures have compounded Nigeria’s woes and prolonged its under-development. Members of the TakeitBack Movement and their sympathizers are especially irritated by the President’s continued denigration of Nigerian Youths as lazy slobs who wait on the government for sustenance. Sowore has been tapping into this massive resevoir disappointment and resentment to coalesce Nigerians around his visions, using the TownHall events which enables him to directly interact with and listen to Nigerians.
The New York TownHall will take place at Radisson JFK Airport Hotel (135-30 140th Street, Queens, NY 11436) and is expected to commence at 3pm and end at 7pm.
