PARIS, France – A contemporary art gallery that allows only people who are naked to view artworks has opened at the Palais de Tokyo museum in Paris, France. To view artworks, art lovers were required to remove their clothers in the cloackroom before they go into the gallery to appreciate artworks.
To avoid any surprise encounters, the visit according to reports took place before the official opening of the museum with clothed staff on hand to offer insight into the artwork.
This is the first time a Paris museum has welcomed nudists and it is coming after a successful establishment of a nude zone in the city’s Bois de Vincennes park last year.
Nude guests told local newspaper Le Parisien that they enjoyed the experience. “The atmosphere was very nice,” said one, adding that there was initially some embarrassment, but that being nude allows you to experience the artwork differently.
