WASHINGTON, United States – Jehovah’s Witnesses worldwide are glad to announce the release of Teymur Akhmedov , one of their brothers incarcerated by authorities in Kazakhstan.




In a statement on their website, the Jehovah’s Witnesses said the Akhmedov was not only released but that the Kazakhstan authority also issued him a formal pardon, allowing him to receive urgent surgical care in a hospital in Almaty, where is currently recuperating.

Brother Akhmedov, 62, has been in prison since January 18, 2017, for merely practicing his faith. He is glad to finally be reunited with his family and was happy that the brothers were able to arrange for him to observe the Lord’s Evening Meal in the hospital.

Authorities in Kazakhstan issued Teymur Akhmedov a formal pardon and released him from custody on April 4, 2018. Earlier, on March 27, 2018, authorities permitted Brother Akhmedov to receive urgent surgical care in a hospital in Almaty, where he is currently recuperating.

Brother Akhmedov, 62, has been in prison since January 18, 2017, for merely practicing his faith. He is glad to finally be reunited with his family and was happy that the brothers were able to arrange for him to observe the Lord’s Evening Meal in the hospital.
