IKEJA, Lagos, Nigeria – The Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Ikeja branch and some civil society groups have walked out of the public hearing on the amendment to the Lagos State Land Use Law 2018.
The Chairman of the NBA Ikeja branch, Mr Adesina Ogunlana protested at the hearing that the association was given less than a day notice to present its memorandum.
The General Secretary of the Joint Action Front, Comrade Abiodun Aremu also kicked against the holding of the hearing on short notice, saying that the group would take to the streets in protest against what he termed the rubber stamp nature of the Lagos State Assembly.
