UMUAHIA, Abia, Nigeria – Despite his prudent management of funds, Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, remained a silent achiever and has performed well, National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, has confessed.
The PDP chairman said he was happy about the number of projects on ground and the quality of work done. Secondus stated this at Government House in Umuahia, after accompanying the governor on an inspection tour of over 20 projects in the state.
He said, “Governor Okezie Ikpeazu is a silent achiever, this man has achieved the best for his people, he has achieved the designs in achievements and projects. I believe that solution have been provided by the government of Abia state to the people of the state”.
He expressed surprise that despite the low federal allocation and a two year litigations, Governor Ikpeazu has achieved a lot, especially in the area of infrastructural upgrade, job creation, investment in skill acquisition and entrepreneurial developments.
Secondus described Governor Ikpeazu as one who has kept his campaign promises by providing solution to the infrastructure needs of Abians.
On the Abia Poultry Cluster and Multi Development Skills Centre, he explained that it is a solution to unemployment in the state if sustained. He decried that the media has under reported the achievements of the governor and noted that PDP is the party to beat in Abia come 2019.
The Deputy Chairman, South East PDP, Austin Umahi, renowned Pharmacist, Sam Ohuabunwa, Col.Austin Akobundu(retd), Chef Reagan Ufomba and a former Commissioner for Information, Akwa Ibom State, Aniekan Umana who were part of the entourage expressed surprise at the achievements of the governor especially the quality of work. They called on other state governors and the federal government to emulate Abia’s model of development.
Governor Okezie Ikpeazu explained that the essence of the inspection was to ensure that the stakeholders see for themselves what is happening in Abia and bring an hear to hearsay.
He expressed delight at achieving most of his inaugural promises and reaffirmed his commitment to change Abia’s narrative before the end of the year. The governor was accompanied by PDP stakeholders, National Assembly members, Abia. legislators, the clergy, and traditional rulers.
