In the memo, the Head of Service of the Federation briefed the President after FEC Wednesday, 11th of October 27, on the wide ranging implications of reinstatement of Mr. A. A. Maina, especially the damaging impact on the anti-corruption war stance of this administration.

According to the memo, both the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami and Minister of Interior, Abdulraman Bello Dambazu were deeply involved in the scam. In fact, AGF originated the letter following a judgment that voided the warrant of arrest issued on Abdurasheed Maina.

His letter was directed to the Federal Civil Service Commission(FCSC) which now requested the Head of Civil Service of the Federation( HCSF) to direct the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior to consider the AGF’s letter.

The ministry then took the letter to the Senior Staff Committee and recommended the reinstatement of Maina into the service as Deputy Director. Mrs. Winfred Oyo-Ita said that appropriate recommendations were made but that she was never in agreement with recommendations from high quarters.

“Please note that the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation was never in agreement with the reinstatement and consequently never conveyed the approval of the FSFC to Mr. A. A. Maina, nor approved his posting to Ministry of Interior or any other MDAs.

“Rather, I sought audience with his Excellency, Mr. President on Wednesday, 11th of October 27, after the FEC meeting, where I briefed his Excellency verbally on the wide ranging implications of reinstatement of Mr. A. A. Maina, especially the damaging impact on the anti-corruption war stance of this administration”, she said.
