IKEJA, Lagos, Nigeria – Afro Fusion artiste Burna boy has dropped two solo songs, ‘Déjà vu’ and ‘Gba’.
The “Afro Fusion artiste takes fans on a journey with ‘Déjà vu’ and straight to the dancefloor with ‘Gba’.
Déjà vu is a mid tempo vibe song that describes the feeling of meeting someone for the first time, falling in love, and cherishing those moments. He sings “Déjà vu is how it feels, like we already fallen in love, in love, in love”. The track, which sees the singer-songwriter going in a more afro-pop direction, is just one of the two new songs that Burna boy has bestowed upon the world.
Gba is a dance tune used by the afro fusion artist to demand respect for his talent and works. Action speaks louder than words, he sings “Mo ti so fun won pe ki won gba, won fe gba, won a gba” which means “whether they like it or not, they will acknowledge”.
The tracks prodcued by Chopstix sees Burna Boy display his versatility and uniqueness in this double release. Burna Boy is definitely here to prove a point and set the pace as always.

Born 2 July 1991, popularly and professionally known by his stage name BURNA BOY, is an Afro-fusion singer, songwriter and performing artiste.
After having a fairytale year in Port Harcourt, releasing two mix tapes and wining several grass root awards, Burna Boy rose to prominence in 2012 following the release of “Like To Party”, the first single off his debut album “L.I.F.E”
He is widely regarded as one of the most talented, versatile, and consistent artistes in the Nigerian music industry; with hit tracks like ‘Yawa Dey’, ‘Like to Party’, ‘Tonight’, ‘Check and Balance’, ‘Don Gorgon’, ‘Soke’, and most recently ‘Follow Me’ making his case. Burna’s ever- changing but unique style of music is seen by many music buffs as having a significant semblance to that of music legend Fela kuti, who incidentally was as at a time managed by Burna Boy’s maternal grandfather, the iconic Benson Idonije.
Damini Ogulu a.k.a Burna Boy is one of the few figures in the Nigerian music industry with a distinct voice that evokes memories of many music greats, dead and living, from all over the world; something that has aided him in his rise to global prominence. An indigene of Rivers State in Southern Nigeria, Burna Boy has worked with several A-list Nigerian and international artists like 2face Idibia, WizKid, Sarkodie, Phyno, Flavor, Dbanj,Wiz Kid to mention a few. He is also known and respected for having some of the most creative and top grade music videos on the African continent.
Burna boy was born in Port Harcourt on 2nd July 1991 to Bosede and Samuel Ogulu as the only son and eldest of three children. Coming from a family where music was loved but where greater premium was placed on education, he spent most of his summer holidays in the UK and in language immersion summer camps in France, Togo and Cote d’Ivoire, before finally moving to the UK where he picked up the Brixton Patois accents which have become a signature in his music. Young Damini attended Montessori International primary school in Port Harcourt from 1993 – 2002 and Corona Secondary School, Lagos 2002-2008. The quest for more knowledge took him outside the shores of Nigeria to the United Kingdom to study Media Technology at the university of Sussex from 2008 – 2009 and Oxford Brooke’s university from 2009 – 2010 to study Media Communications and Culture. After that, he did a one year internship with Rhythm 93.7 fm Port Harcourt before officially launching his professional music career when he was signed on to Aristocrat records, prompting a permanent relocation to Lagos.
It has always been music for Burna Boy as observed by his mum when he was still a teenager. She recounts that he was always hanging around his Grandfather, listening to classical music; little wonder his role model later became the man his grandfather managed, Fela Anikulapo Kuti.
Damini founded and led a high school band “Def Code” in his high school days at Corona and headlined a performance at the national stadium as one of the highlights of the 50th anniversary of corona schools.
