NEW YORK, United States – The Watchtower Bible & Tract Society of Jehovah’s Witnesses has concluded sales of two buildings in Columbia Height, New York.
The first one was sold August 11, while the other was sold August 31, 2017. The two buildings are situated at 119 and 97 Columbia Heights, Brooklyn, both used as residence for headquarter staff of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society.
The building at 97 Columbia Height is situated on 88,610-square-foot (8,232 sq m) and it was residence for over 30 years.
According to the JWs, the building was formerly the site of the historic Hotel Margaret and is known for its views of the East River and Manhattan skyline.
“For many years, the elegant Hotel Margaret was Brooklyn’s tallest building”, the JWs said in a statement. The world headquarters for Jehovah’s Witnesses is now located in a new facility in Warwick, New York.
The property at 97 Columbia Heights in Brooklyn, New York, was placed for sale on Wednesday, October 26, 2016.
It is an 11-story residential structure, with its picturesque views of the East River and Manhattan skyline, sits on the northern edge of the scenic historic district of the Brooklyn Heights neighborhood.
97 Columbia Heights was designed with architectural elements that pay tribute to the former hotel’s copper patina details, terracotta façade, and corner bay windows.
