Alistair Soyode, the Mentoring Commandant of Nigerians in Diaspora Mentoring Corp, said, the suspension of the quit notice is a needed development in the country.

“We are excited that the youths placed national interests above other views as expressed by millions of stakeholders of this great country, Nigeria. We are using this opportunity to call on all aggrieved groups, community representatives to use the window of their elected representatives to engage the government. Indeed it is a time for us all to reflect on what makes a strong, united and a progressive Nigeria.

“Finally, we pray that the Arewa Youths will called off the whole declaration in order to make sitting round the table for national discussions possible with a view to securing those solutions towards equity and equality as partners on equal terms for the benefits of all Nigerians”, he said.

Executive Director, YES Nigeria movement. Mr. Aminu Sule added, “there is an urgent need to take examples from other African countries where discussions on separation holds without such seen in Nigeria.

“Ambazonia from Cameroon, Bubi from Equatorial Guinea are few examples in Africa. Even in Asia, Europe, North and South America have their own discussions. In the UK which is closer home are referendums between their nationalities. We are of the opinion that Nigeria could gain more by taking cues from other places as a nation. Yes, it is possible to have a nation equally answerable to all its citizens. We are in the movement of Yes, we can do it. Yes, we should allow peace to reign in our country”, he said.
