IKEJA, Lagos, Nigeria – The Management of Institute of Governance and Management of Nigeria, penultimate Tuesday honoured the Secretary- General of Computer and Allied Products Dealers Association of Nigeria CAPDAN, Ikeja Lagos Mr. Jerry Mba with a Post Graduate Fellow of the Institute.
The ceremony which toke place at the Corporate Headquarters of CAPDAN Ikeja Lagos, recently was a beehive of activities as it attracted men and women from all walks of life.
According to Prof. Godswill Nwakpa who represented the Institute at the occasion, the award was given to Mr. Mba in recognition of his outstanding contributions to peace and the stability of the nation’s Largest Information and Communication Technology, ICT market.
He said the institute was aware of Mba’s track record at the Nigerian institute of Personnel Management, saying that during his tenure at the institute, he posted a very wonderful contribution that remained unbeaten till today.
“We are happy that he is doing wonderfully well at the CAPDAN, creating peaceful atmosphere and stabilizing the market for peaceful co-existence among all stakeholders” he added.
Nwakpa said in the past, the market was known for crisis but since Mba joined the management team as the secretary, he has brought his Midas Touch to bear in creating peace and stability in the system.
According to Nwakpa, the peaceful co-existence in the market has brought development and cordial relations among all the stakeholders.
‘’In the last one year, since the present administration came on board, there has been tremendous transformation and development ,especially in the area of peace and cordial relations which has brought more development in the market. In every human activity, there are always crises, but what matters is the management of the crisis.
“We are proud and happy that every part of the market has been effectively managed and people are happy with the new development because there is peace’ he said.
He described Mba as a man of honour, great strategies and bundle of wisdom, saying that during his time as chairman, the institute experienced a great transformation adding that nobody has surpassed him.
He added that conflict exits wherever there are human activities but that the institute is only interested in the conflict resolutions, stressing that the institute is appreciative of what CAPDAN officials are doing to maintain peace in the market.
In his response Mba thanked the institute for recognizing his contributions to peace and development in the society, saying that the award would not have been possible if not for the people working with him.
He thanked every body who had in one way or the other supported him towards achieving all he had achieved in the office and in life, saying that whatever one does, it is the people that propel him to the level.
He dedicated the award to God Almighty, CAPDAN officials and members of the Association, saying that the award will challenge him to do more for peace and development of the market and the society.
