BERLIN, Germany – The streets of Germany came alive today when news filtered in that the German Bundestag has voted yes to legalise same sex marriage.
Gay couples stormed the streets in defiance of the heavy rain, popping champaign and kissing to celebrate what they deem as a major breakthrough in their quest to legalise relations among one another.
“It is a very important moment for Germany and for the queer people in Germany, because we fought really long for equality in our rights and now it is time,” project manager Andreas Reschke told CNN.
Asked if he had any marriage plans, Reschke laughed and looked at his partner as he responded. “Yeah, maybe.”
