ABUJA, Nigeria – The Senate today rejected Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mallam Ibrahim Magu.
This is the second time that the Senate is rejecting Magu for the position. The Senate decided to reconsider him based on a letter from President Muhammadu Buhari, clearing him of precious allegations by the Department of Security Service, DSS.
But at the hearing today, two Senators, Senator Dino Melaye and Senator Banabas Gemade latched on to a petition from the DSS, which indicted Magu, describing him to have failed integrity test and that he would be a liability to the war against corruption.
Magu however described the petition as fake. See more at Magu has failed integrity test
