EMEKA IKE LEADS NOLLYWOOD ACTORS, MUSICIANS ON ANTI-CORRUPTION RALLY

ABUJA, Nigeria – Nollywood actor, Emeka Ike will lead members of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN and members of the Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria, PMAN in an anti-corruption rally across the federation.




They will be joined in the rally by members of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Civil Society Groups and members of Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON)

The professional groups made the revelation during a courtesy visit to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Ibrahim K. Idris recently under the aegis of ”Voice of Change Nigeria” led by their leader, Emeka Ike .

The IGP hailed the group for supporting the force in crime fighting in the country.

The Inspector General of Police, while appreciating the efforts of the entertainment industry, especially in engaging youths in activities that deter them from partaking in crime, lauded them for using their movies to reduce unemployment in the country. He praised the group for their courage, saying all Nigerians must join hands together to see the end of fight against corruption.

The IGP reiterated his commitment to fighting corruption right from the time he took mantle of the force by declaring his Assets via Code of Conduct Bureau which his officers have also followed suit. The IGP pledged to continue to remind Nigerians of the evil of corruption and anybody arrested, irrespective of the position of such persons, will be investigated and prosecuted for the offence.




Speaking on their readiness to support the fight against corruption in the country, the entertainment group disclosed their readiness to embark on rally tagged ”Mega Rally” Voice of Chang Nigeria in all the States of the Federation, while the IGP assured that all the Commissioners of Police in charge of State Commands will be directed to provide adequate security for the group during their campaign.
