SANGO, Ogun, Nigeria – Armed soldiers and customs in the wee hours of Wednesday invaded shops of traders selling rice and grand nut oil in Sango Market in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area, Ogun State and took possession of numerous bags of rice which they carted away in 16 trailers.

Traders who arrived their shops for normal business broke down in tears when they discovered that their shops have been vandalised and the goods were no more.

The traders who were frustrated trooped into Lagos/Abeokuta highway and blocked the expressway, leading to heavy traffic jam.

According to eye witness, the incident happened around 2 O’ clock this morning when the traders were not on their duty post. A trader who preferred anonymity, the officers who shot sporadically went with sixteen trailers fully loaded with bags of rice.

A resident of the area, Sunmola Tope said the officers who invaded the market were not challenged by any security operatives.
