ABEOKUTA, Nigeria – Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun today honoured the state Head of Service, Elder Olusola Adeyemi and 16 other Permanent Secretaries who recently bowed out of service.





Speaking at a special reception organized to honour the retirees at the Arcade ground, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, Governor Amosun appreciated the retired officers for their selfless contributions to the mission to rebuild Ogun State.

While appreciating Elder Adeyemi who was the 15th Head of Service of the state, the Governor disclosed that indeed “he has left Ogun State better than he met it.” Governor Amosun used the avenue to reassure the good people of Ogun State of his administration’s commitment to continue to deliver the dividends of democracy.

Governor Amosun who described civil servants as a major component and the engine room of government assured that “before we leave office, we would have set a clear direction that would be irreversible.”

The Governor who commended the retirees for sacrificing their yesterday for the joy of today called on the remaining civil servants to learn from them and brace up especially in the New Year.

On his part, the retired Head of Service, Elder Adeyemi appreciated God for His unfailing love and grace which had kept him thus far while appreciating Governor Amosun for deeming it fit to appoint him as the 15th Head of Service of Ogun State.
The retired Head of Service therefore used the medium to charge the civil servants in the state to uphold the ethics of the service, praying that God would reward their labour in due course.


Some of the retired permanent secretaries honoured at the event include Pharm. Mathew Adewunmi; Dr. Daisi Odeniyi; Engr. Taiwo Lawal; Revd. Ibikunle Onasanya; Alh. Muktar Sobiye; Mrs. Olabisi Akinnuga and Alh. Nurudeen Oyedele.
Others include, Messrrs Adekunle Bammeke; Emmanuel Ofor; Julius Olatoye; Isaac Osunjimi; Muyiwa Adenopo; Tokunbo Owotomo; Ayotunde Kolawole and Abidemi Adelekan.
