PARIS – French police have released the driver who took Kim Kardashian West to the hotel where she was robbed of jewelry worth over $10 million.
The Police also released two others who had been in detention following a series of raid this week. On Monday, about 17 people were arrested in connection with the robbery which took place in October 2016.
The driver’s brother and 13 others remained in custody Wednesday after a round of arrests this week, according to the Paris prosecutor’s office, who are currently working on the possibility that the robbery had the backing of an insider.
Officials have said that the two brothers, Michael Madar, 40, and Gary Madar, 27, worked for the same car service company hired by Kardashian. It was not clear which brother drove Kardashian the night of the robbery.
