Lekki, Lagos – At least two people were killed when a trailer conveying iron rod with registration number Lagos AGL 86 XN collided on high speed with a stationery trailer loaded with cement at Abidjan bus stop on the Lekki Express Way.

According to General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency(LASEMA), Mr. Adesina Tiamiyu, those dead were the driver, identified as Mubarak and the motor boy known as Baki.


“Preliminary investigations carried out by the ERT at the scene of the incident revealed that a trailer conveying iron rod with registration number Lagos AGL 86 XN on high speed collided with another trailer loaded with cement parked on the road side resulting into fatality of two victims.

“The driver of iron rod loaded truck identified as Mubarak and the motor boy identified as Baki were trapped dead and were extricated by the LASEMA ERT and were handed over to the Nigeria Police from Elemoro Police Station, while the two trucks were also towed to the same police station for further investigation”, he said.

Tiamiyu said proper investigation would be conducted on the incident by the appropriate authorities, but he however advised motorists to adhere to safety precaution while driving and also ensure that broken down trucks are properly parked with necessary safety caution.


Those who responded to the incident were operatives of the agency alongside officials of the FRSC and Nigeria Police Force.
