India – Russian President, Vladimir Putin has sent his condolence to President of India Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in connection with train accident which killed over 115 people in Uttar Pradesh, India.

“Vladimir Putin sent his condolences to Indian President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in connection with the tragic aftermath of a railway accident in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

“The President passed on words of sympathy and support to the victims’ families and friends and wished a speedy recovery to the injured”, he said.


The cause of the accident is yet unknown as rescuers have intensified rescue operation.

Krishna Keshav, who was travelling on the train, told the BBC those travelling on the train woke with a jolt at around 3am. “Several coaches were derailed, everybody was in shock. I saw several bodies and injured people,” he said.
