Lagos, Nigeria – Nothing was left out, not talent, not equipment, not manpower as the epic video shoot of KASI, the June 12 Girl everyone is talking about, kicked off on the streets of Lagos this week.
Every modern cinematography equipment was on display: cameras, drones, tracks, jeeps, lights, etc. From the choice areas of Ikeja to the suburbs of Idimu, the large movie crew spread out with a convoy of choice black SUVs creating scenes along the way and capturing shots that will titillate music lovers wherever they may be in the coming months. Unmistakable was KASI’s best friend, her red hot customized and branded Honda power bike.
Co-ordinating the photography was the eagle eyed new kid on the block called King Waleman Jr. Don Pedro Delphinus was in command of the choreography which had a battery of dancers and stuntmen dressed to thrill. Chief of make-up was Ijay Peters, the best in the business whose amazing make up kit was like a beauty salon on wheels.
All the time in the foreground was Chief Tony Okoroji, Chairman, Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) and former President of PMAN who for many years worked for the world-wide recording company, EMI as music producer and Artiste & Repertoire Manager.
Okoroji owns TOPS, the music production, publishing, distribution and events company which is masterfully rolling out the June 12 Girl. Says Okoroji, ‘’ At TOPS, we have been working hard for several months. We are ready to make a big statement soon with an outstanding group of young first class Nigerian talents. KASI will be the First Lady of TOPS.
She will be an important music, dance and fashion statement. Apart from KASI, we are also presently shooting the video of Gwilz, the young rapper who is lyrically licensed to kill. Believe me, Gwilz is explosive”.
For a long time, the Nigerian music industry has not buzzed this much in expectations of a new songstress. KASI is widely being talked about even before most people, except her producers, managers and crew have heard even one verse of any of her songs.
KASI born on the historic day of June 12, 1993 is said to be the hottest cake being baked presently in the ovens of the Nigerian music industry. Chief says, ‘’I am 100% confident that KASI will rock the world and TOPS is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the June 12 girl, the first lady of TOPS, the songstress who rides the hot red power bike gets a roll out like no other. Just hold your breadth’’.
