Washington – Results trickling in after the Presidential election in the United States has so far put candidate of the Republican Party, Donald Trump ahead of his major rival, Hillary Clinton of the Democratic Party.
From the results coming in, Donald Trump has so far garnered 254 electoral college votes after securing 49, 232, 653 popular votes with, 26 key states projected to be in his favour remaining besides the few uncalled states.
Hilary Clinton has secured 209 votes in electoral college and 47, 604, 643 popular votes with 17 key states where she is projected to win remaining besides the few uncalled states.
Donald Trump is also leading in the parliamentary election, where the Republican party has secured 48 seats in the Senate and 204 seats in the House of Representatives, while his main rival, Hilary trails behind. The Democratic Party has so far secured 46 seats in the Senate and 48 seats in the House of Representatives.
The winner of the Presidential election must secure 270 votes in Electoral College. As things stand, Trump needs just 16 more to clinch the ticket while Clinton will need 61.
