Lagos, Nigeria – A few months ago, hints of the release of the sophomore album of internationally acclaimed singer made the rounds.
Although no dates were announced, many lovers of Bez music anticipated the release, some excitedly predicting dates. We can say categorically that the wait is over as the singer just unveiled the album cover and track list of the album titled Gbagyi Child.
The singer has once again dedicated extraordinary attention to his music. The same skill which propelled his 2011 Super Sun debut album to international recommendation and relevance even in most recent times has also been infused in this music project but with the passion, sweat, tears and joys of five years!
Along with the track list comes a booklet which details the inspiration behind the album and the journey to the album’s creation.
The 13-track album reveals collaboration with two of Nigeria’s finest songstresses, Yemi Alade and Simi and is set to be released on the 28th of November, barely a week to go! In the words of the singer ” the sounds that make up the Gbagyi Child album were all the pieces woven together intricately with an intent to create magic. This magic is my sophomore offering”!
Bez is set to headline an electrifying music festival on the 24th of December, 2016 at the Muri Okunola park and will be kicking off his media tour soon.
Emmanuel Bezhiwa Idakula popularly known as Bez (born 10 November 1983), is an instrumentalist, singer, song writer and composer whose genre has been described as alternative soul as it delves into soul, rock, jazz and RnB.
The singer whose unique sound has driven his career to great heights began singing as a child, first learning to play his father’s guitar and singing in the choir.
Despite going through tough times as a result of the death of his father, Bez’s determination to follow the paths of music led him to perform at open mic events in the university .The singer released his first album, “Super Sun” in 2011.
Bez is married to Bolatito Idakula and the couple recently had a son. The singer is also set to release his much anticipated sophomore album before the end of 2016.
