TROPICAL STORM: GEORGIA, NORTH CAROLINA DECLARE STATE OF EMERGENCY IN 89 COUNTIES

USA, Sept., 02, 2016 – Governors of Georgia and North Carolina have declared state of emergencies in 89 counties, 56 in Georgia and 33 counties in North Carolina, following report of imminent tropical storm.

This is coming even as Hurricane Hermine made land fall in Florida, leaving at least one person dead.

Governor Nathan Deal of Georgia listed the 56 affected counties as Appling, Bulloch, Colquitt, Evans, Lanier, Pierce, Toombs, Atkinson, Burke, Cook Glynn, Laurens,Richmond, Treutlen, Bacon, Camden, Crisp,Grady, Liberty, Screven, Turner, Ben Hill, Candler, Decatur, Irwin, Long, Seminole and Ware.

Other counties affected in Georgia are Berrien, Charlton, Dodge, Jeff Davis,Lowndes, Tattnall, Wayne, Brantley, Chatham, Echols, Jefferson, McIntosh, Telfair, Wheeler, Brooks, Clinch, Effingham,Jenkins, Mitchell, Thomas, Wilcox, Bryan, Coffee, Emanuel, Johnson, Montgomery,Tift and Worth.

Earlier in North Carolina, Governor Pat McCrory declared state of emergencies in 33 counties Beufort, Dare, Onslow, Berti, Duplin, Pamlico, Bladen,Gates, Pasquotank, Brunswick, Greene, Pender, Camden, Hertford, Perquimans, Carteret, Hoke, Pitt,Chowan, Hyde, Robeson, Columbus, Jones, Sampson, Cumberland, Lenoir, Tyrell, Craven, Martin, Washington, Cutterick, New Hanover and Wayne
