Miss Mary Adejumo is inconsolable. Her face downcast, she has shed so much tears in just a matter of days. The reason is simple! Her little baby, Ajakaiye Jesse Eniola, a boy of two years, handsome and full of life is no more. She believes, it is nothing but a classic case of murder.

The tragic thing is that Eniola, whom she raised up practically with bank loans, died mysteriously in the custody of Bamidele Ajakaiye and his family after he was forcefully taking into custody.

Eniola would have been two years and 9 months old by September 17, 2016 but he is no more.Mary told starconnectmedia.com that she was only told on phone that her child who was never sick is dead.

“The police came and took the pictures. There was blood in his mouth and nose and the police told me that he was murdered”, she said.

She explained that the Ajakaiye family never wanted the child since they were not happy that their son impregnated her, moreover when she is from a very poor home.

Mary told our correspondent specifically that Bamidele’s mother, Juliana Ajakaiye, a church worker in Deeper Life Bible Church told her she had the baby for her son because she was interested in her properties and that she had to resist pressure from Bamidele’s parents to abort the baby.

She alleged that she was taking to Isheri Police Station by Juliana and was pressurized without success to append her signature to a document that would make it impossible for her to see Eniola.

She said that threats from Juliana became so unbearable that she and her family had to relocate to Ijegun and lost their properties in the process.

“Yes, they told me to abort the pregnancy. Dele’s mother told me to sign a document that I won’t see Eniola again when she took my mum and I to the Police Station in Isheri, but the police woman I met there said I should not sign and I did not sign. We relocated to Ijegun because of Iya Dele’s threat and we lost our properties.

“ She said it was because of her properties that I had a baby for her son and the surprising thing was that she was a worker in Deeper Life Bible Church”, she said in a text message to starconnectemedia.com.

Our correspondent called Bamidele on the issue but he said his baby was never murdered. He later said that the incident was sad enough for him and would not comment further on it. He also told us to write whatever the bereaved mother has said.

However, Mary Adejumo got some relief when the Nigerian Police Force at Oke-Odo Divisional Police Headquarters, Alimosho swung into action and promptly effected arrest of the alleged murderers.

But without charging the matter to court, the suspects were released leaving the mother frustrated.

Not satisfied with the way the policemen at Oke-Odo are handling the matter, Mary Adejumo approached a human right group, Know Your Rights Initiative which has petitioned the Divisional Police Officer, seeking transfer of the case to the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department, homicide section, Yaba, where she feels her late son would get justice.

In a statement, President and Secretary of the group, Comrade Olusegun Adeeko and Comrade L.K Dimaku, which also copied the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, the group warned lawyer to the Ajakaiye family to desist from prevailing and threatening their client, Mary Adejumo from seeking justice in the court of Law.

“KnoRights with due respect and honour is urging the D.P.O to immediately transfer the murder case to the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department, Homicide section, Yaba, Lagos so that Master Ajakaiye Jesse can get justice in death”, the group said, stressing that it was reliably informed that the rich Ajakaiye family lawyer has been intimidating and prevailing on the poor Adejumo family not to seek justice in the court of law.
