Nigeria, Sept., 09, 2016 – Benin Airport in Edo State roared to life when Air Peace made its maiden flight into the facility on Friday morning.

A positioned truck gave the aircraft a water salute. The truck colourfully released plumes of water over the aircraft in celebration of its maiden flight to the airport.
Chairman of Air Peace, Onyema, who was at the Murtala Muhammed Airport to greet passengers on the maiden Lagos-Benin-Lagos, Abuja-Benin-Abuja flight shortly before departure at about 8 a.m., pledged to sustain the exceptional services of the airline.
Pleased passengers on the maiden flight to Benin pledged to advertise Air Peace’s entry into the Benin route, commending the airline for providing them an exceptional alternative.
Prince Charls Amadi of A. G. Butler Nigeria Ltd said the airline offered him an opportunity to experience efficient service with its entry into the Benin route, affirming that Air Peace Chairman, Chief Allen Onyema had been known to always do things right.
He said: “What is happening today is great. Air Peace has been doing very well. Its coming to Benin,which I come every week, has given me an opportunity to experience efficient service.”
Mrs. Elizabeth Ohonba, an Edo indigene based in Manchester, could not conceal her satisfaction. She said her experience on Air Peace Lagos-Benin flight erased her fear of flying locally. Air Peace’s expansion to Benin, she added, had ended the near-monopoly air travellers contended with for years on the route.
“I was scared of taking local flights. I was, however, told that Air Peace was going to Benin with a big aircraft so I decided to give it a try. I have confirmed what I was told. The aircraft is just like a private jet. I will help advertise Air Peace once my experience is good,” she pledged.
When the aircraft eventually made a safe, smooth landing at 8.44 a.m., Mrs. Ohonba, who flew with her son, Michael, gave her verdict. She turned to Air Peace’s Corporate Communications Manager, Chris Iwarah, and his team member, Abdulazeez Kazeem, gave a thumbs-up and declared: “It’s good! The flight was good. The pilot is good.”
For his part, Mr. Ikechukwu Ibe said he was trilled at the entry of Air Peace into the Benin route.
Urging the airline to maintain its reputation for on-time departure, he said: “I think if you keep it up, I don’t have a reason to use any other airline. An airline took advantage of the few flights on the Benin route; I need an airline to break the monopoly.”
Speaking on the maiden flight, Air Peace Benin Station Manager, Mr. Aminu Suleman commended passengers for patronising the airline on the Benin route in their numbers. Suleman said he was grateful to his Edo people for not letting him down with their patronage.
