Nigeria, Sep 29, 2016 – National chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has lost his ward in the just concluded governorship election in Edo State even as the leading parties tried to woe voters with Naira even in a period of economic recession.

Oyegun voted at Polling unit 2, Ward 2, in Oredo LGA, where APC scored 69 votes, while the PDP scored 78. Meanwhile, the PDP has expanded its lead over APC in the polls.

According to reports received from the field, PDP polled 55, 368 while APC polled 22,110 votes.There were allegations that APC members were seen compiling a list and giving out money.

According to a beneficiary, each voter received N10, 000, with agents struggle to have a share in the public distribution.
Infact, there are several videos online about APC allegedly sharing money to woo the electorates in the election.

There were also allegations about massive importation of mercenaries by the APC in the quest to manipulate the election in its favour.

An alleged APC member by name Samson Benedict was caught distributing Permanent Voters Card (PVCs) and money to fake electorates from Kogi State.
