As Donation hits N6 Million
She said at least N10 million will be required as deposit but that N6 million has been raised, with N4 millions to go.
“This is a reminder alert for us all “Nollywood practitioners” about our ailing brother actor Leo Mezie who has been down with kidney failure for a while now, so please do not forget to donate your widow’s mite to this cause”, she said.
She said practitioners have been on this campaign to raise 10 million naira for his treatment abroad, adding that it seems to be heading nowhere.
“It is already looking feeble considering the high exchange rate and his constant dialysis here in Nigeria. We have raised about 6 million naira and we are using this opportunity to thank well-meaning fellow Nollywood colleagues who donated to the cause albeit so far we still have more money to raise.
“We said every single practitioner should at least donate an average of 2000 (two thousand naira) henceforth whatever your heart sees to give, it’s well appreciated”, she said.
She said his visa is out and he is fully ready to travel. ‘But we still do not have at least 10 million naira deposit fund…. and hospital bills are well on the increase.
“if you have not yet donated perhaps due to time and chance we are calling up again a reminder so you can do so. We have a detailed bank statement showing every practitioner who has donated both in bank statement and cash at hand and what was donated. We might eventually have a print out of the bank statement published to the press so we all can have a visible clean and clear fund raise campaign right?’’ she said.
