Nigeria, August 5, 2016 – Dancehall crooner, Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie , better known as Patoranking has said that he was not arrested in Uganda, contrary to media reports.
The musician who was speaking at an interactive session in Lagos to announce his latest album, ‘God over Everything’ in Lagos said he was only delayed but never arrested.
Speaking on his latest album, he said that like all his album, God Over Everything, is all about himself, adding that a lot of people want to be famous, put on the best designer wear and own property, but that all is vanity.
“The album is about love, God and where I come from”, he said adding that it does not contradict his earlier, album titled, My Woman, My Everything”, stressing that he remains a topical singer.
Patoranking explained that he tries as much as possible to reach everybody with his music in other to be acceptable to all including people from the north where he said he is less popular.
He told reporters that his desire to be acceptable to all explains his reason for featuring different established musicians in his music.
He said he has featured Phyno in his album to appeal to fans in the East where he comes from since Phyno blazes the trail in that region.
According to him, to appeal to the Yorubas, he has featured Omawunmi, Sakordi for his fans in Ghana, Wizkid for international flavor, Olamide for the street guys. He said he has gone a step further to feature a Jamaican musician to appeal to his fans in Jamaica where his ‘My Woman, My Everything’ is doing quite well.
He said he remains the spokesman for what he represents and that he sings in such a way that a two year old child is able to mouth his music adding that he has also done some tracks in pidgin English to appeal to his fans in Ajegunle.
