Nigeria, August 22, 2016 – Bauchi State Governor, Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar has ordered the security forces to release blogger, Musa Azare who was arrested by the security forces for Cyber Stalking.
In a statement, Special Adviser to the Governor on Communication, Mr. Yakubu Adamu said the Governor of Bauchi State who just returned from a business trip to China has ordered his immediate release.
According to him, Governor Mohammed Abubakar’s verified Twitter handle; after reading the reports of the blogger’s alleged offences and ordered his immediate release.
“This is because as a lawyer, he believes in freedom of speech. The Nigerian chairman of the Human Rights committee has confirmed that Musa Azare has indeed been freed on the orders of the Governor”, he said.
